Everyone Is A Leader
Today, there are so many ways to be a leader, but the big one is that whether you think you are or not, someone is watching you and basing their decisions on your actions! It is imperative for future generations to learn by the right example, and one way I help myself to be a better leader is to think about the decisions I’m making and how they may affect my students or my kids. It often helps me catch behaviors that I don’t want them to have and allows me to adjust course.
Being a leader is a big responsibility
The sooner you realize this the better. We all make mistakes. We’re only human right? Well, the real mistake is not learning from it. If you know you made a mistake take a minute to think about 5 things you could have done differently so that next time you may end up with a better outcome!
Martial Arts Classes Help
We teach our kids, and adults for that matter, how to be good leaders. By learning to set a good example, to always try your best and never give up.
Winners never quit, Quitters never win, and Leaders go first!
This is especially important if there are kids in your life, because kids learn by copying and mimicking behaviors they see every day. If your child is doing something you don’t like, look at yourself before telling them they are wrong because chances are they are learning to do that very thing from you or someone they spend a lot of time around.
What Does It Mean To Be A Leader?
Winners never quit…
means that we will always continue trying to be our best selves no matter how difficult life gets, and we all know how hard that can be. As a leader, it is our responsibility to others to keep our heads up high and be courageous.
Quitters never win…
means just that. If you quit when things get tough you will never realize those goals and dreams you have set for yourself. Quitting things isn’t always bad of course, however, we want to get away from things that are bad for us. If we make a habit of quitting things, we start for whatever reason it’ll be that much more difficult to get to the finish line.
I am reminded of my days in the army… one of my instructors told me that if we quit running to take a break and walk to catch our breath, we wouldn’t be able to run the same distance again during that run before having to stop again. The more times you stop the shorter distances you are able to go. The same thing applies in all area’s of life. Every time we stop to take a break its that much longer before we finish and, the shorter our bursts of energy will be.
Leaders go first!
means having the discipline to continue the run no matter how tired you are. Slowing down is OK when you need to slow down. Just remember, you’re not stopping to walk. You’re moving to a slow jog to catch your breath, and then picking up the pace again when you get caught up.
Going first doesn’t mean eating before your people have eaten or being first in line (unless you’re paying!) Going first means taking care of the people around you before you take care of yourself. Being a leader means helping others. Helping others to be their best in order to accomplish a goal or just being an example to follow.
